Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
    2. Install the driver side knee airbag with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 in.*lbf) 

    3. Attach the claw to install the lock lever.
    4. Install the control cable.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOLDING  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION  ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  13. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see INITIALIZATION  ).
