Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH) 
    1. When the luggage compartment door opener main switch is ON (Pushed), push the luggage compartment door opener inner switch and check that the luggage compartment door opens

      OK: Luggage compartment door opener system operates normally. 

    2. When the luggage compartment door opener main switch is OFF (Free), push the luggage compartment door opener inner switch and check that the luggage compartment door does not open

      OK: Luggage compartment door opener system does not operate.

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: END 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on
    4. Enter the following menus. Body Electrical / Body / Active Test
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body 

      ITEM RANGE REFERENCE

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Trunk and Back-Door Open Operate luggage compartment door lock motor ON/OFF -

      OK: Luggage compartment door lock motor operates. 

    NG: Go to step  4

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body 

      ITEM RANGE REFERENCE

      Trunk/B Door Open SW Luggage door opening inner switch/ON or OFF ON Luggage compartment door opener inner switch is pressed

      Trunk Main SW Luggage door opener main switch signal/ON or OFF ON Luggage compartment door opener main switch is pushed
      ON Luggage compartment door opener main switch is not pushed
      -

      OK: On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

      Result

      NG (Luggage compartment door opener main switch) C

    B: Go to step  6

    C: Go to step  8

    A: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH) 

  4. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door lock (See REMOVAL ).
    2. Move the door lock to the close (lock) position.
    3. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check operation of the door lock motor

      OK 

      SPECIFICATION CHART

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (E)
      Luggage compartment door lock motor open operation

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the J74 ECU connector
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q42-1 (B) - J74-1 (TR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q42-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q42-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH) 

  6. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener inner switch (See REMOVAL  )
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 - 6 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      5 - 6 Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the J75 ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Taster Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J14-6 - J75-3 (TKUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      J14-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J14-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH) 

  8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener main switch (See REMOVAL  )
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the J75 ECU connectors
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J57-2 - J75-2 (TSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      J57-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J57-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)
