Rear Door Lock: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system (See PRECAUTION ).
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  2. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  3. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM COVER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS RUN  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector
    2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws and the rear door lock assembly.
    3. Slide the rear door lock assembly downward and pull the release plate out of the rear door outside handle frame
    4. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the rear door lock assembly.

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw

    2. Remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws

    2. Remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly
