Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the A/C amplifier
    2. Disconnect the A/C amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J58-20 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT A/C AMPLIFIER 
    1. Reconnect the A/C amplifier connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e1-2 (BUS G) - J58-20 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE A/C AMPLIFIER  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT A/C AMPLIFIER 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e1-4 (BBUS) - e1-2 (BUS G) Engine switch off Below 1 V
      e1-4 (BBUS) - e1-2 (BUS G) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE A/C AMPLIFIER  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS  (See DISASSEMBLY  )
