FUEL INJECTOR (for Port Injection): Installation

  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 
    1. Apply gasoline to 2 new O-rings and install them to each fuel injector assembly
      NOTE: Check that there is no damage or foreign matter in the groove of the fuel injector assembly when installing the O-ring.

    2. Install the fuel injector assembly to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly as shown in the illustration
      NOTE:
      • Make sure that there are no scratches or foreign matter in or around the insertion hole of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
      • When inserting the fuel injector assembly, be careful not to damage the O-ring.
      • Be sure to fit part B of each fuel injector assembly between the tabs labeled A on the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 
    1. Install the 2 spacers to the intake air surge tank assembly.
    2. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (with fuel injector assembly) to the intake air surge tank assembly

    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Check that part B of the fuel injector assembly is between the tabs labeled A on the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 
    1. Install the 2 spacers to the intake air surge tank assembly.

    2. Install the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly (with fuel injector assembly) to the intake air surge tank assembly.

    3. Install the 2 bolts

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Check that part B of the fuel injector assembly is between the tabs labeled A on the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  4. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY (for Port Injection) 
    1. Install the 2 fuel pressure pulsation damper assemblies and fuel tube sub-assembly (See INSTALLATION ).
  5. CONNECT FUEL HOSE NO.3  (See \INSTALLATION )
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  7. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
