    NG: Go to step  3

    OK: Go to Next Step

  2. REPLACE TCM
    1. Replace the TCM (See REMOVAL  ).

NEXT: PERFORM A/T CODE REGISTRATION  (See REGISTRATION  )

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM)
    1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector
    2. Disconnect the TCM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E47-7 (SL) - E59-24 (SL) Always Below 1 Ω
E47-7 (SL) or E59-24 (SL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to Next Step

  4. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL
    1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SL (See DISASSEMBLY  )
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
Shift solenoid valve SL connector - Shift solenoid valve SL Body 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω
    3. Connect a battery positive (+) lead to the terminal of the solenoid valve connector, and a negative (-) lead to the solenoid body. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound

OK: Valve moves and makes an operating sound.
