Inspection Procedure

CHECK HARNESS AND TRANSMISSION WIRE (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM, TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU))

Disconnect the TCM connector

Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

Standard Resistance

STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
E59-2 (SLU+) - E59-8 (SLU-)	Always	5.0 to 5.6 Ω
E59-2 (SLU+) or E59-8 (SLU-) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG: Go to step 3

OK: Go to next Step

REPLACE TCM
1. Replace the TCM (See REMOVAL ).
NEXT: PERFORM A/T CODE REGISTRATION (See REGISTRATION )

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM)

Disconnect the transmission wire connector
Disconnect the TCM connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

E47-13 (SLU+) - E59-2 (SLU+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
E47-14 (SLU-) - E59-8 (SLU-)	Always	Below 1 Ω
E47-13 (SLU+) or E59-2 (SLU+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
E47-14 (SLU-) or E59-8 (SLU-) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: Go to next Step

INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU

Remove the shift solenoid valve SLU (See DISASSEMBLY ).

Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

Standard Resistance

STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SLU - terminal 2	20°C (68°F)	5.0 to 5.6 Ω

Connect a battery positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound
OK: Valve moves and makes operating sound.

NG: REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU (See DISASSEMBLY )

OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (See REMOVAL )
