Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Removal

  1. BOLT, SCREW AND NUT TABLE 

    HINT:

    The bolts, screws and nuts, which are necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel are shown below and the text with alphabets.

  2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 

    HINT:

    See PRECAUTION .

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 2 console upper panel garnish.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 1 console upper panel garnish.

  7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 11 clips and remove the upper console panel assembly, then disconnect the connectors.

  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 7 clips as shown below.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly LH.
  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
  10. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Disengage the 5 clips and remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel, then disconnect the connectors.

  11. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (See  AIR CONDITIONING PANEL  ) 
  12. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and the 5 claws, and then remove the console rear end panel sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
  13. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, the 2 screws and the rear console box assembly.

  14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws.
    2. Pull the front No. 2 console box insert rearward to remove it.

  15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
  16. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Disengage the 5 clips and remove the front console upper panel garnish, then disconnect the connectors.

  17. REMOVE LOWER CONSOLE BOX 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.
    2. Remove the 2 screws and the lower console box.

  18. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER 
  19. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER 
  20. REMOVE STEERING PAD (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  21. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  22. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  23. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  26. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front floor footrest.

  27. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 
    1. Remove the clip.
    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board LH.

  28. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 
  29. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the 2 clips and the claw, and then remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  30. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ORNAMENT 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel ornament.

  31. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
  32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE 
    1. Remove the instrument panel finish plate.

  33. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts.
    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and the fuel lid lock control cable sub-assembly.
    3. Disengage the 4 clips.

    4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel RH.
  34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER LH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and instrument panel lower LH.
  35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 clips.
    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  36. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See  DISASSEMBLY  ) 
  37. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  38. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.

  39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ORNAMENT 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel ornament.

  40. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  41. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 5 screws.
    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the glove compartment door sub-assembly, then disconnect the connectors.

  42. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
  43. REMOVE DISC PLAYER CHANGER (w/ CD Changer) 
  44. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  45. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  46. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  47. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 9 bolts and nut.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
    3. Remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly with defroster nozzle duct.
  48. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 5 screws and defroster nozzle assembly.
  49. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and No. 3 heater to register duct.
  50. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT 
  51. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT 
  52. REMOVE GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ LEXUS Link System) (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  53. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 
  54. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
  55. REMOVE NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER 
  56. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  57. REMOVE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  58. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  RADIO ANTENNA CORD  ) 
  59. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) 
  60. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  61. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
