Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the 2 connectors and the 2 clamps to the front passenger airbag assembly.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    2. Engage the 5 hooks (A).
    3. Engage the 5 hooks (B) and install the front passenger airbag assembly on the instrument panel.

    4. Install the 2 screws.
  2. INSTALL SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE NO.2 DUCT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  3. INSTALL HEATER TO REGISTER NO.3 DUCT (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    Refer to the procedures from "INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY" (See INSTALLATION ).

  5. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
  6. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION   ) 
  8. INSTALL NO.2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH (See  INSTALLATION  )

  10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/ Illumination) 
  12. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/o Illumination) 
  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ).

      HINT:

      Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

  15. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
