Front Passenger Side Knee Airbag Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY 
  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and front passenger side knee airbag.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
