Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
    2. Install the driver side knee airbag with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY 
  7. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION (2006/02-2006/07) ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  12. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM (2006/02-2006/07)  ).
