Heated Oxygen Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2 4WD) 
    1. Using SST, install the sensor to the front exhaust pipe.
    2. Pass the sensor connector through the floor panel and install the grommet.

      SST 09224-00010 

      Torque: without SST 

      44 N*m (449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)

      with SST 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
      • Make sure SST and the wrench are connected in a straight line.
    3. Connect the sensor connector.
  2. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (for 4WD) 
    1. Install the cover with the 2 clips and 4 nuts.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD) 
    1. Install the front seat LH (see INSTALLATION ).
  4. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX (for 4WD) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  6. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2 2WD)

    1. Using SST, install the sensor to the front exhaust pipe.

      SST 09224-00010 

      Torque: without SST 

      44 N*m (449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) 

      with SST 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      • Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
      • Make sure SST and wrench are connected in a straight line.
    2. Pass the sensor connector through the floor panel and install the grommet.
    3. Connect the sensor connector.

  7. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

    1. Using SST, install the sensor to the front exhaust pipe.

      SST 09224-00010 

      Torque: without SST 

      44 N*m (449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) 

      with SST 

      40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

    2. Pass the sensor connector through the floor panel and install the grommet.

    3. Connect the sensor connector.
  8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX PLATE (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  12. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE UPPER GARNISH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
