Brake Pedal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
    NOTE: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See step 20 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See step 16 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY (See step 17 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER (See step 18 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING 
  9. SEPARATE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS 
    1. Remove the clip and clevis pin and disconnect the push rod clevis from the brake pedal.
  10. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the pedal stroke sensor.
    3. Remove the bolt.

    4. Remove the 4 nuts and the brake pedal support assembly.
