Front Seat Belt With PRETENSIONER: Replacement

HINT:

  1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (See  OVERHAUL  (POWER SEAT TYPE)) and ( OVERHAUL  (MANUAL SEAT TYPE)) 
  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and inner belt.
  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Remove the floor anchor cover.
    2. Remove the bolt and floor anchor.
  8. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  9. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH UPPER RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH 
    NOTE:
    • Removal operation concerning the seat belt with the pretensioner must be started in 90 seconds or more after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the battery negative terminal is disconnected.
    • Carefully read the notices for the "pretensioner" in the SRS airbag system and the outer belt assy.
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt on the shoulder anchor side.
    2. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and the outer belt assy.
  11. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSY 
    1. Remove the bolt and the belt anchor adjuster assy.
  12. INSTALL FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSY 
    1. Install the belt anchor adjuster assy with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH 
    NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.
    1. Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
      1. Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all the direction but the belt locks over 45° of tilt, when moving the installed retractor gently.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.

    2. Install the retractor with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 

      8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf) for upper bolt 

      42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for lower bolt 

    3. Install the shoulder anchor with the nut.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    4. Install the center pillar garnish upper RH (see REPLACEMENT ).
    5. Install the center pillar garnish lower RH (see REPLACEMENT ).
    6. Install the floor anchor with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    7. Install the floor anchor cover.
    8. Check the ELR lock.
      NOTE: The check should be perform with the assembly installed.
      1. Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt quickly with the belt installed.

        If operation is not as specified, replace the outer belt assy.

  14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Install the inner belt assy with the nut.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
