REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for 4GR-FSE): Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL 
    1. Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential filler plug and gasket.
    2. Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential drain plug and gasket, and drain the oil.
  3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    (See step 5 in REMOVAL )

  4. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    (See step 6 in REMOVAL )

  5. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY 

    (See step 4 in REMOVAL )

  6. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH 

    (See step 14 in REMOVAL )

  7. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Removal procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side.

  8. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR 

    (See step 5 in REMOVAL )

  9. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the differential carrier with a jack.
      NOTE: Do not drop the differential carrier.
    2. Using a hexagon wrench (12 mm), remove the 3 hexagon bolts.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 rear upper differential mount stoppers, 2 rear lower differential mount stoppers and differential carrier rear.
