Luggage Compartment Door Support: Removal

HINT:

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER 
  2. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH 
  3. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH 
  4. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (See Step 5 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (See Step 6 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY (See Step 7 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (See Step 8 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (See Step 9 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (See Step 10 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. REMOVE SIDE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (See Step 11 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • As much as possible avoid touching the stroke portions of the rod to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.
    • Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.
    • Do not apply any load to the cylinders in the horizontal direction in order to prevent the rod from being deformed.
    1. Using a screwdriver, raise the claws on the bracket of the luggage compartment door support.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the stop ring on the ball joint along its groove.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Disengage the luggage compartment door support at the ball joint and the pin.

    NOTE: Remove the luggage compartment door support assembly while supporting the luggage compartment door with hands.
