Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Installation

HINT:

A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 5 clips to install the safety pad.
    2. Connect the connectors and clamps.
    3. Install the 2 bolts to the passenger airbag.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the 4 bolts, nut and 2 clips.
    5. Install the center junction block RH and LH with the 4 nuts.

    6. w/ Navigation system:

      Install the navigation ECU.

      1. Connect the connector.
      2. Install the ECU with the 3 bolts.

  2. INSTALL MULTI-DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  3. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  4. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 2 clips and claw to install the glove compartment door.
    2. Connect the connector and clamp.
    3. Install the 4 screws.

  6. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector and clamp.
    2. Attach the 4 clips to install the under cover.

  8. INSTALL INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 2 claws to install the control panel.
    3. Install the 2 screws.

  9. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 1 SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the hood lock control cable to the safety pad.
    2. Attach the 8 clips and claw to install the safety pad.

  11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 1 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connectors.
    2. Attach the 3 claws to install the under cover.
    3. Install the 2 screws.

  12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Attach the 2 claws and 4 clips to install the side panel.

  13. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Attach the 2 claws and 4 clips to install the side panel.

  14. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Install the combination meter with the 4 screws.

  15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 5 clips to install the cluster finish panel.

  16. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Install the console box with the 4 bolts and 2 screws.

  17. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the register.

  18. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX PLATE 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 4 clips to install the console box.

  19. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH 
    1. Attach the 4 clips and 3 claws to install the finish panel end.
    2. Install the screw.

  20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH 
    1. Attach the 3 clips and 3 claws to install the finish panel end.
    2. Install the screw.

  21. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Attach the 9 clips to install the ash receptacle.

    3. Install the shift lever knob and twist it in the direction indicated by the arrow.

  22. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Attach the claws to install the garnish.
  23. INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  24. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  25. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING SENSOR (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  26. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER UPPER 
    1. Install the steering column cover upper.

      For 3GR-FSE (See INSTALLATION )

      For 3UZ-FE (See INSTALLATION )

  27. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER 
    1. Install the steering column cover lower.

      For 3GR-FSE (See INSTALLATION )

      For 3UZ-FE (See INSTALLATION )

  28. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the steering wheel assembly.

      For 3GR-FSE (See INSTALLATION )

      For 3UZ-FE (See INSTALLATION )

  29. INSTALL STEERING PAD (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  30. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL NO. 3 COVER LOWER 
  31. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL NO. 2 COVER LOWER 
  32. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  33. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  34. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  35. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  36. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  37. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    1. Perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ).
  38. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
