Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly: Installation

HINT:

A bolt without a torque specification is a standard bolt (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).

1. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
   1. Pass the cable into the engine room.
   2. Pass the cable rear side through the grommet until the cable stopper is attached to the grommet.
   3. Pass the cable front side through the upper radiator support.
   4. Connect the clamps as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUBASSEMBLY 
   STANDARD CLEARANCE CHART
   
   

   Area	Part Name
   A	Junction block
   B	Hood lock control cable
   C	Parking brake pedal
   D	Parking brake cable

   1. Install the hood lock lever and connect the hood lock control cable.
   2. Attach the 2 claws.

3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 
   1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the lock.

   2. Install the hood lock
   3. Install the 2 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

   4. Install a new cap.
   5. Connect the hood lock control cable.

4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH 
   1. Attach the 3 clips to install the protector.

5. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER 
   1. Attach the claw and install cable cover.
   2. Install the 3 screws.
6. INSTALL MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Cruise Control System) (See  MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT  ) 
7. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
8. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH (See  INSTALLATION  )

10. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
11. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  EVAP SYSTEM  ) 
13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
       NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
