Rear Seat Belt: Replacement

HINT:

  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY RH (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY LH (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
  5. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  6. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSY 
  7. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX FRONT (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  8. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  9. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  10. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY NO. 3 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
  12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  13. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  14. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  15. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  16. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE COVER RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  17. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  18. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSY RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  19. REMOVE ROOM LAMP ASSY NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  20. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSY INNER RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  21. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH 
    1. Remove the nut and seat belt on the shoulder anchor side.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts on the retractor side, and remove the seat belt completely.
  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER (REAR SEAT ASSY RH) 
    1. Remove the seatback board (See OVERHAUL ).
    2. Remove the shoulder belt cover (See OVERHAUL ).
    3. Remove the bolt and belt on the floor anchor side.
    4. Remove the bolt and nut on the retractor side, and remove the belt completely.
  23. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (REAR SEAT ASSY RH) 
    1. Remove the bolt and seat belt.
  24. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (REAR SEAT ASSY RH) 
    1. Remove the nut and seat belt.
  25. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (REAR SEAT ASSY LH) 
    1. Remove the bolt and seat belt.
  26. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (REAR SEAT ASSY LH) 
    1. Install the seat belt with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  27. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER (REAR SEAT ASSY RH) 
    1. Install the belt on the retractor side with the bolt and nut.

      Torque: 

      • 7.5 N.m (76.5 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf) for upper bolt 
      • 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for lower nut 
    2. Install the shoulder belt cover

      (See OVERHAUL ).

    3. Install the seatback board center

      (See OVERHAUL ).

    4. Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the ELR.
      NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.
      1. Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but that the belt locks with over 45° of tilt, when gently moving the retractor.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

    5. Install the belt with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    6. Check the ELR lock.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt quickly when the belt is installed.

      HINT:

      The seat belt does not lock when the pull-out amount of the belt is 955 mm (37.60 in.) or less.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

    7. Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. Check that the belt can not be pulled out any more but can rewind after it is fully pulled out.
      2. Check that the belt can be pulled out and can rewind after it is fully rewound.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

  28. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (REAR SEAT ASSY RH) 
    1. Install the floor anchor and belt with the nut, as shown in Fig 2 .

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    NOTE: Do not make the anchor part run onto the protrusion part of the floor panel.

  29. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (REAR SEAT ASSY RH) 
    1. Install the seat belt with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  30. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH 
    1. Install the belt with the 2 nuts on the retractor side.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    2. Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the ELR.
      NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.
      1. Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but that the belt locks with over 45° of tilt, when gently moving the retractor.

    3. Install the belt with the bolt on the floor anchor side.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

      1. Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt quickly when the belt is installed.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assy.

    4. Check the ELR lock.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt quickly when the belt is installed.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

    5. Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. Check that the belt can not be pulled out any more but rewind after being pulled out fully.
      2. Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound after the belt has been fully rewound.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

  31. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSY LH (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
  32. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSY RH (See  OVERHAUL  )
