Rear Seat ASSY RH: Overhaul

HINT:

The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.

  1. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 bracket covers.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY RH 
    1. Disengage the 5 clips.
    2. Remove the bolt holding the fold seat stopper band on the vehicle side.
    3. Remove the 2 headrests.
    4. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 seat track bracket covers.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    5. Remove the 5 bolts and seat.
  4. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK COVER RH 
    1. Disengage the claw A in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration.
    2. Disengage the claw B in the direction indicated by the arrow mark in the illustration to separate the seatback lock cover and seatback board and remove the seatback lock cover.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the seatback cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 4 clips and seatback board.

  6. REMOVE CENTER SEAT HINGE COVER UPPER 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the claws and remove the hinge cover upper.
  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY CTR 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and seat.
  8. REMOVE RECLINING COVER PROTECTOR RH 
    1. Remove the clip and screw.
    2. Remove the reclining cover protector by pulling it out in the direction indicated by arrow in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE RECLINING COVER PROTECTOR LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for RH side.

  10. REMOVE RR SEAT CUSHION ASSY CTR 
    1. Using a Torx® socket wrench (T45), remove the 2 Torx® bolts and cushion.
  11. REMOVE CENTER SEAT CUSHION COVER SUB-ASSY 
    1. Disengage the hook and remove the cushion cover together with the pad.
    2. Remove the hog rings and cushion cover.
  12. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK MOULDING LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and moulding.
  13. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK MOULDING RH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and moulding.
  14. REMOVE REAR SEAT ARMREST ASSY CENTER 
    1. Using a Torx® socket wrench (T45), remove the 2 Torx® bolts and armrest.
  15. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK HINGE 
    1. Using a Torx® socket wrench (T45), remove the 2 Torx® bolts and seatback hinge.
  16. REMOVE NO. 1 SEAT BACK COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 headrest supports.
    2. Disengage the claws and remove the seatback cover.

  17. REMOVE NO. 2 CENTER SEAT BACK COVER 
    1. Disengage the claws and remove the coat hook cap.
    2. Remove the 3 screws and seatback cover.

  18. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ROD CONTROL LEVER OUTER 
    1. Disconnect the reclining control cable and remove the control lever.
  19. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and seatback lock.
  20. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION MOULDING RH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Remove the moulding by pulling it out in the direction indicated by arrow in the illustration.

  21. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION MOULDING REAR RH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.
    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the moulding.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  22. REMOVE RR SEAT CUSHION ASSY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and cushion.
  23. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    1. Disengage the hook and remove the cushion cover together with the pad from the cushion frame.
    2. Remove the hog rings and cushion cover.
  24. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY RH 
    1. Using a Torx® socket wrench (T40), remove the 2 Torx® bolts.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and cushion and seatback.
  25. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK BOARD CARPET ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the 4 clips and seatback board carpet from the seatback.

  26. REMOVE REAR SEAT LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove the control lever cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Disconnect the reclining control cable remove and the control lever.

  27. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the shoulder belt cover by pulling it out in the direction indicated by arrow in the illustration.

  28. REMOVE REAR SEAT LOCK STRIKER 
    1. Remove the striker cap and look striker.
  29. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 headrest supports.
    2. Disengage the hook and remove the seatback cover together with the pad from the seatback.
    3. Remove the hog rings and seatback cover.

  30. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT COVER 
    1. Disengage the claw and remove the shoulder belt cover.
  31. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  32. REMOVE FOLD SEAT STOPPER BAND ASSY NO. 1 
    1. Remove the bolt and stopper band.
  33. REMOVE REAR SEAT RECLINING CONTROL CABLE 
    1. Disconnect the control cable.
  34. REMOVE REAR SEAT RECLINING COVER INNER RH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the claw and remove the reclining cover.
  35. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  36. REMOVE RECLINING CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt, and 4 nuts and the reclining control link.
  37. REMOVE PLATE SEAT TRACK STOP RH 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and stop plate.
  38. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSY LOWER RH 
    1. Using a Torx® socket wrench (T40, T55), remove the 5 Torx® bolts and seatback frame.
  39. REMOVE FOLD SEAT CUSHION FRAME NO. 1 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and cushion frame.
  40. REMOVE FOLD SEAT CUSHION FRAME NO. 2 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and cushion frame.
  41. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK ADJUSTING HANDLE 
    1. Using a screwdriver, push down the handle stopper to disengage the claw with the slide rail in the front most position and remove the track adjusting handle.

  42. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK ASSY OUTER RH 
  43. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK ASSY INNER RH 
  44. INSTALL FOLD SEAT CUSHION FRAME NO. 2 
    1. Install the cushion frame with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  45. INSTALL FOLD SEAT CUSHION FRAME NO. 1 
    1. Install the cushion frame with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  46. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSY LOWER RH 
    1. Install the seatback frame lower to the cushion frame No. 1 with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install the seatback frame lower to the cushion frame No. 2 with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 120 N.m (1224 kgf.cm, 89 ft.lbf) 

  47. INSTALL PLATE SEAT TRACK STOP RH 
    1. Install the plate seat track stop with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

  48. INSTALL RECLINING CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Install the control link with the bolt and 4 nuts.

      Torque: 

      21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) for bolt 

      42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for nut 

  49. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY INNER (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  50. INSTALL FOLD SEAT STOPPER BAND ASSY NO. 1 
    1. Install the stopper band with the bolt.

      Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) 

  51. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  52. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER 
    1. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.
    2. Install the seatback cover to the seatback frame.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the cover. 
      • When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible. 
    3. Install the 2 headrest supports.

  53. INSTALL REAR SEAT LOCK STRIKER 
    1. Install the seat lock striker.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  54. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSY RH 
    1. Install the seatback with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 

      55 N.m (561 kgf.cm, 41 ft.lbf) for LH side 

      42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for RH side 

  55. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    1. Using hog ring pliers, install the cushion cover to the cushion pad with new hog rings.
    2. Install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the cover. 
      • When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible.

  56. INSTALL RR SEAT CUSHION ASSY 
    1. Install the cushion with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 

      18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for cushion side 

      21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) for hinge side 

  57. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK LOCK SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Install the seatback lock with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  58. INSTALL REAR SEAT ARMREST ASSY CENTER 
    1. Install the armrest with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  59. INSTALL RR SEAT CUSHION ASSY CTR 
    1. Install the cushion with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  60. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSY CTR 
    1. Install the seat with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 

      18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) for cushion side 

      21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) for back hinge side 

  61. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSY RH 
    1. Place the seat in the cabin.
    2. Install the seat with the 5 bolts.

      Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

    3. Install the bolt onto the fold seat stopper band on the vehicle side.

      Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) 

    4. Install the 2 headrests.
    5. When sliding the seat, check that both sides of the adjuster lock simultaneously.
