Inspection Procedure

1. Check if the other DTCs are detected (See PRE-CHECK ).

1. YES REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE 
2. NO GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. NO CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU 
2. YES GO TO NEXT STEP 

IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester.
4. Check the voltage condition, which is output from the ECU displayed on the hand-held tester.

   OK: 

   "Normal" is displayed. 

IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Measure the voltage between terminal IG1 and GND of the brake actuator harness side connector.

   OK: 

   Voltage: 10 to 14 V

1. OK: Go to step   6 
2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Check for an open circuit in harness and connector between the body ground and skid control ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).

1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (Skid control ECU - Body ground) 
2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Check the battery positive voltage.

   OK: 

   Voltage: 10 to 14 V 

1. NG: INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM 
2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - SKID CONTROL ECU) 

IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Select the item "VSC WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the VSC warning light on the hand-held tester.
4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC warning light can be shown on the combination meter on the hand-held tester.

IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Check the VSC warning light goes off.

1. NG: INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM (See  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  ) 
2. NG: CHECK AND REPAIR VSC WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT
