Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (TRAC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the item "TRAC OFF LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the TRAC OFF indicator light on the hand-held tester.
- Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the TRAC OFF indicator light can be shown on the combination meter with the hand-held tester.
NG: Go to step 4
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH
- Remove the TRAC control switch.
- Disconnect the TRAC control switch connector T6.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in table below.

Standard:
NG: REPLACE TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - TRAC OFF SWITCH)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and the TRAC control switch connector T6.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 4 .

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See PRE-CHECK
)
NG: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and E connector E5.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 6
.
Standard:
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 7 .
