Abs & Traction Actuator ASSY: Replacement

  1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE: Wash the brake fluid off immediately if it adheres to any painted surfaces.
  2. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET 
    1. Using SST(s), disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the actuator with bracket.

    2. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.

    3. Pull the lock lever upward.
    4. Disconnect the actuator connector.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts, the nut and the actuator with bracket.
    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.

  3. REMOVE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy from the brake actuator bracket.
  4. INSTALL ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY 
    1. Install the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) 

    2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET 
      1. Install the actuator with bracket and the 2 bolts and the-nut.

        Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
    3. Connect the actuator connector.

    4. Using SST(s), connect each brake tube to correct positions of the actuator with bracket, as shown in the illustration.

      SST 09023-00100

      Torque: 15 N.m (155 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf)

  5. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See  BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  ) 
  6. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER (See  BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  ) 

    SST 09023-00100

  7. BLEED BRAKE LINE (See  BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  ) 
  8. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (See  BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  ) 
  9. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE 
  10. CHECK BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH HAND-HELD TESTER (See  PRE-CHECK  )
