Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the item "SLIP INDI LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the SLIP indicator light on the hand-held tester.
- Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light can be shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.
NG: Go to step 2
OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY
- INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
)
NG: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector S1 and ECM connector E5.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 2
.
Standard:
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 3 .

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT) (See PRE-CHECK )
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
