Back Door (Exterior Body Panels): Overhaul

HINT:

The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.

1. REMOVE BACK WINDOW PANEL TRIM UPPER 
   1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and 7 clips, and remove the trim upper.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSY UPPER 
   1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 10 clips and remove the trim panel.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSY 
   1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 8 clips and remove the trim panel.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH 
   1. Disengage the 3 clips and remove the trim cover.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH 

   HINT

   Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

6. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM SPACER RH 
   1. Remove the screw.
   2. Using a clip remover, disengage the claw and remove the trim spacer.
7. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM SPACER LH 

   HINT:

   Use the same procedures described for the RH side.

8. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER 
   1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the lock cover.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use. If damaged, exchange it for a new cover.

9. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY 
   1. Remove the 3 bolts.
   2. Disconnect the connector and remove the door lock.
10. REMOVE REAR SPOILER (See REPLACEMENT  ) 
11. REMOVE REAR LAMP ASSY LH (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
12. REMOVE REAR LAMP ASSY RH (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
13. REMOVE BACK DOOR GARNISH OUTSIDE (See REPLACEMENT  ) 
14. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LAMP ASSY (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
15. REMOVE DOOR PULL HANDLE 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the door pull handle.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

16. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSY 
    1. Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the door lock.
    2. Install the door lock with the 3 bolts.

       Torque: 12.5 N.m (127 kgf.cm, 9.0 ft.lbf) 

    3. Connect the connector.
