Air Bag Sensor Rear RH: Replacement

HINT:

Replacement procedure of the LH side is the same as that of the RH side except for step  9.

  1. (See  PRECAUTION  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL (See  SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM  ) 
  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  7. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER REAR NO. 2 SEAT (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  8. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  9. REMOVE AIR DUCT ASSY 
    1. Remove the screw and the air duct assy.
  10. REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR REAR RH 
    1. Disconnect the connector of the airbag sensor rear RH.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the airbag sensor rear RH.

  11. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR REAR RH 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is OFF.
    2. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
      NOTE: Do not start the operation for 90 seconds after removing the terminal.
    3. Install the airbag sensor rear RH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 17.5 N.m (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Installation of the connector is performed with the airbag sensor rear RH installed. Make sure the airbag sensor rear RH is installed with the specified torque.
      • If the airbag sensor rear RH has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the airbag sensor rear RH with a new one.
      • When installing the airbag sensor rear RH, take care that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
    4. Connect the connector of the airbag sensor rear RH.
    5. Check that no play is identified.
