Air Bag Sensor Rear RH: Replacement

Replacement procedure of the LH side is the same as that of the RH side except for step 9.

- DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL (See SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM )
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER REAR NO. 2 SEAT (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE AIR DUCT ASSY
- Remove the screw and the air duct assy.
- REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR REAR RH
- Disconnect the connector of the airbag sensor rear RH.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the airbag sensor rear RH.
- INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR REAR RH
- Check that the ignition switch is OFF.
- Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.NOTE: Do not start the operation for 90 seconds after removing the terminal.
- Install the airbag sensor rear RH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 17.5 N.m (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
NOTE:- Installation of the connector is performed with the airbag sensor rear RH installed. Make sure the airbag sensor rear RH is installed with the specified torque.
- If the airbag sensor rear RH has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the airbag sensor rear RH with a new one.
- When installing the airbag sensor rear RH, take care that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
- Connect the connector of the airbag sensor rear RH.
- Check that no play is identified.
- INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
