Rear Differential Carrier (4WD): Removal

HINT:

Support the drive shafts securely.

HINT:

Support the propeller shaft securely.

1. Torque: 49 N.m (500 kgf.cm, 36 ft.lbf) 

Remove the 2 bolts, exhaust center pipe and exhaust tail pipe.

1. Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

1. Support the differential with a jack.
2. Loosen the 3 rear mounting bolts and dynamic damper.
   1. Torque: 95 N.m (970 kgf.cm, 70 ft.lbf)

3. Loosen the 2 bolts.
   1. Torque: 137 N.m (1,400 kgf.cm, 101 ft.lbf) 
4. Support the rear suspension member.
5. Remove the 4 nuts, 2 bolts and 2 retainers from the rear suspension member.

   Torque: 

   1. Front side: 83 N.m (850 kgf.cm, 61 ft.lbf) 
   2. Rear side: 181 N.m (1,850 kgf.cm, 134 ft.lbf) 
6. Lower the differential with the rear suspension member.
7. Remove the loosened 5 bolts, 2 nuts and differential.
8. Remove the 2 bolts, nuts and rear crossmember from the differential.
   1. Torque: 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf)
