Fuel Receiver Gauge
- Operation Inspection - Inspect the fuel receiver gauge operation. See FUEL GAUGE CIRCUIT under CIRCUIT TESTS. Disconnect the connector from the main sender gauge. See Fig 1. Turn the ignition switch ON and check that the receiver gauge needle indicates EMPTY. Connect the main sender gauge. Disconnect the connector from the sub sender gauge. See Fig 2. Turn the ignition switch ON and check that the receiver gauge needle indicates EMPTY. If operation is not as specified, go to the next step.
- Resistance Inspection - Measure the resistance between terminals with fixing pointer to the stopper. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION and INSPECTING RESISTANCE WITH FIXING POINTER TO STOPPER . If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the receiver gauge. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
NOTE:
Because of the silicon oil in the gauge, it will take a short time for the needle to stabilize.
