Fuel Receiver Gauge
- Operation Inspection -
See FUEL GAUGE CIRCUIT under CIRCUIT TESTS. Disconnect the connector from the main sender gauge. See Fig 1. Turn the ignition switch ON, check that the receiver gauge needle indicates EMPTY. Connect the main sender gauge. Disconnect the connector from the sub sender gauge. See Fig 2. Turn the ignition switch ON, check that the receiver gauge needle indicates EMPTY. Because of the silicon oil in the gauge, it will take a short time for needle to stabilize. If operation is not as specified, inspect the receiver gauge resistance.
- Resistance Inspection -
See FUEL SENDER GAUGE CIRCUIT under CIRCUIT TESTS under BODY CONTROL SYSTEM
article under COMMUNICATION DEVICES in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Measure the resistance between terminals with fixing pointer to the stopper. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . See INSPECTING COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY RESISTANCE table. If resistance value is not as specified, replace the receiver gauge. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
