Fuel Gauge Circuit
NOTE:
If not using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 2.
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Turn the ignition switch ON and the hand-held tester main switch ON. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester. Check that the probe moves as the hand-held tester directs in each range. If the probe operates normally, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX table. If the probe does not operate normally, go to the next step.
- Check the fuel receiver gauge. See FUEL RECEIVER GAUGE under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the fuel receiver gauge. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check the fuel sender gauge. See FUEL SENDER GAUGE under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the fuel sender gauge.
- Check the circuit plate. See COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT . If the results are OK, check and replace the combination meter. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, replace the circuit plate. See COMBINATION METER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
