Installation (IS 300)

  1. Install brake booster and NEW gasket. Install and tighten booster bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install clevis pin to operating rod. Insert clevis pin into clevis and brake pedal. Install clip to clevis pin.
  3. Install pedal return spring. Install vacuum hose. Install clamps with bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Connect front left brake line to clamp. Using special tool (09023-00100) and spanner, connect brake line to flexible hose of front left brake. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Attach grommet to body through brake line.
  6. Ensure power brake unit push rod length is correct. See POWER BRAKE UNIT PUSH ROD  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  7. Install master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER .
  8. Fill brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Check for fluid leakage. Ensure brake pedal height is correct. See BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT & FREE PLAY  under ADJUSTMENTS. Install lower finish panel.
  9. Test operation. See VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER  under TESTING.
