Pinpoint Test C: Switch Test
- C1: SWITCH TEST
- Check the vehicle specification for power operating tailgate.
Does the vehicle specification include power operating tailgate?
Yes: GO to C2.
No: No further action required, refer the customer to Jaguar Land Rover owner information and explain that the function is not installed.
- Check the vehicle specification for power operating tailgate.
- C2: SWITCH TEST NOTE: Do Not clear any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) - No parts are to be replaced without first isolating the failure mode.
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check all Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) related to the RGTM
and the BCM
Are there any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) set in the RGTM ?
Yes: GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
No: GO to C3.
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check all Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) related to the RGTM
and the BCM
- C3: SWITCH TEST
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the tailgate switch circuits for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance.
Were any faults found?
Yes: Repair the wiring harness as necessary and retest.
No: GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
