Transfer Case Draining And Filling - INGENIUM I6 3.0L Diesel (G2463599): Filling

  1. Install and tighten the new transfer case drain plug.

    Renew Part: Transfer case drain plug Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 25 Nm 

  2. NOTE: Make sure that the mating surfaces on the transfer case and transfer case motor pump are clean and free of foreign material.
    • Install and lubricate the 4 new O-ring seals.

      Renew Part: Motor pump O-ring seals Quantity: 4  .

    • Install the motor pump.
    • Install and tighten the 2 screws.

      Torque  : 6 Nm 

    • Clean any excess fluid from the component.
    • Connect the motor pump electrical connector.
  4. Fill the transfer case with the correct specification of fluid, until the fluid is level with the bottom of the motor pump level hole.

    Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Install and tighten the transfer case motor pump level plug.

    Torque  : 25 Nm 

  6. Fill the transfer case with the correct specification of fluid, until the fluid is level with the bottom of the transfer case fill hole.

    Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .

    • Lower the vehicle.
    • Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approve diagnostic equipment.

      General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment 

    • Run the path finder 'Oil Fill' application.
    • If application is successful proceed to the next step. If the application is unsuccessful check and top up the motor pump level hole and run the application again.
    • Remove and discard the transfer case motor pump level plug.
    • Fill the transfer case with the correct specification of fluid, until the fluid is level with the bottom of the motor pump level hole.

      Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .

    • Install and tighten the new transfer case motor pump level plug.

      Renew Part: Transfer case motor pump level plug Quantity: 1  .

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

    • Remove and discard the transfer case fill plug.
    • Fill the transfer case with the correct specification of fluid, until the fluid is level with the bottom of the transfer case fill hole.

      Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS .

    • Install and tighten the new transfer case fill plug.

      Renew Part: Transfer case fill plug Quantity: 1  .

      Torque  : 25 Nm 

  10. Clean away any excess fluid from the transfer case level and motor pump level plugs.
  11. NOTE: If equipped.
    • Install the heatshield.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque  : 8 Nm 

    • Reposition the TCCM  and the ground cable in the correct location.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque  : 6 Nm 

  13. NOTE: If equipped.
    • Install the NVH  damper.
    • Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 48 Nm
