During telematics set-up:
- The system will now search for signal coverage.
- If it detects a good signal coverage, confirm to activate the telematics module.
- A message will state if activation was successful, a red light will illuminate the SOS call button.
- If unsuccessful or the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment states a poor signal coverage, the vehicle must be moved to a area of good signal coverage.
- Press the information call button, after 10 seconds the illumination pattern will change. Release the button and the system will try to activate the telematics module.NOTE: This will time out after 2 minutes.
- If successful, the information call light will stay illuminated for a short period and the SOS call button will be illuminated red.
- If unsuccessful, repeat the process until the SOS call button is illuminated red.
-
NOTE: This step applies to Russian market vehicles only.
Confirm the operation of the ERA-GLONASS system.
- Press the SOS call button for at least 3 seconds.
- Wait for a response from the call centre operator.
- Answer the call centre operator with the phrase 'Carrying out pre-delivery inspection'.
- Response from the call centre operator will be 'Information received' and the call will be disconnected.
- If the call does not connect please call the Telematics Service Desk (TSD) using normal process.
- Continue until all recommended programs have been run.
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, interrogate any DTC's that are present and rectify.

- Startup and auxiliary Battery care requirements.
Make sure the correct standard of battery care is applied to the battery: For additional information, Refer to: BATTERY CARE REQUIREMENTS - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL/TDV6 3.0L DIESEL/TDV8 4.4L DIESEL/V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL/V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL
NOTE:- All equipment used must be functionally capable of meeting the compliance requirements.
- The vehicle may need to be taken out of transit mode to carry out the preconditions.
Carry out the battery test process shown below.
Startup Battery Test.
The battery must be tested to determine that the battery is in good condition and there is sufficient charge to carry out the PDI. Certain electrical systems require a precise voltage to operate correctly.
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery testing equipment, check the battery charge condition. Record the battery voltage and battery test code on the PDI sheet.
CAUTION:- DO NOT connect the tester to any other circuit or chassis point other than the battery negative terminal.
- The battery voltage check MUST be performed to make sure the Intelligent Stop/Start system performs correctly. The battery must be in good condition prior to vehicle handover to the customer.
To test the battery condition, use only a Jaguar Land Rover approved battery tester. The battery condition test is to be carried out before performing the remainder of the PDI while the battery is not connected to the vehicle. Refer to the Battery Care information for complete details and test result information.
If the battery is disconnected again after conducting the PDI, certain vehicle electrical systems that are calibrated during the PDI will lose the calibration and will require resetting again once the battery is reconnected. This may include the PDI application and Market configurations.
Auxiliary Battery test.
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery testing equipment, check the auxiliary battery charge condition. Record the auxiliary battery voltage and auxiliary battery test code on the PDI sheet.
Check the startup battery and auxiliary battery terminals.
CAUTION: When manipulating these terminals, make sure that they are fully installed and tightened to the correct torque. This risks the startup battery discharging after handover to the customer.Make sure that both the positive and negative startup/auxiliary battery terminals are correctly located and torqued to the required value: Refer to the appropriate repair information.
Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support unit/power supply to the vehicle.
- Check all under-bonnet fluid levels.
Investigate the cause if any fluid level is low.
WARNING: The engine must be left to stand for 15 minutes before checking the oil to allow a full drain down. Failure to do this may result in overfilling.CAUTION:- Brake fluid level should be between MIN and MAX based upon brake pad wear.
- Only top-up brake fluid to MAX after new brake pads have been installed.
- If the brake fluid level is below MIN, visually check for any leaks.
- Check the brake/clutch fluid level.
- Check and top-up the engine oil level.
- Check and top-up the washer fluid level.
- Check and top-up the engine coolant level.

Oil checking procedure
NOTE: Prior to checking the oil level make sure that the vehicle is on level ground, the engine oil has reached operating temperature and the engine has been switched off for 10 minutes. The system will not give an accurate reading until the oil level has stabilized.- Switch on the ignition and make sure the vehicle is in Park.
- Select the Service Menu via the instrument panel menu.
- Select Oil Level Display . The current oil level status and topping-up advice is displayed in the instrument panel.
- Top-up as instructed.
- Check and top-up the PHEV battery cooling system. NOTE: The high voltage battery coolant expansion tank is located behind the right side loadspace trim panel.
Add coolant to the battery coolant expansion tank as required, until the upper level mark is achieved.
- Cold air deflector
: Make sure that the cold air deflector has been fitted on vehicles with 3.0L V6 S/C and 5.0L V8 S/C engines that operate in severe cold markets: (Russia and Nordic countries).
The cold air deflector should be secured to both of the Multi-Stage Thermostat (MST) hoses and visually flat to the front of the engine. If necessary, push on the centre of the deflector to firmly seat between both MST hoses. Make sure the deflector is retained and is flat to the front of the engine.
