Left Camshaft (G2033429): Removal

Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Remove and discard the fuel pump belt.
Refer to: REAR END ACCESSORY DRIVE
Remove the left valve cover.
Refer to: LEFT VALVE COVER
Remove the timing belt.
Refer to: TIMING BELT

- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the rear camshaft pulley.
Install the special tool onto the camshaft pulley hub.

Special Tool(s): 303-1124
Using the special tool remove the bolt.

Remove the special tool from the camshaft pulley hub.

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the fuel pump belt cover.

- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the front camshaft pulley.
Install the special tool onto the camshaft pulley hub.

Using the special tool remove the bolt.

- Reposition the secondary timing chain tensioner.
- Retain the secondary timing chain tensioner plunger.

- Remove the 18 bolts.
- Remove the 9 camshaft bearing caps evenly.
Remove the bolts.

CAUTION: Discard the seals.

Remove and discard the 2 seals.
Remove the left bank camshafts and secondary timing chain tensioner assembly.
