Oil Pan (G2131742): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install a new O-ring seal and the oil level sensor.
Renew Part: Oil level gauge O-ring seal Quantity: 1 .

Torque : 11 Nm
CAUTION:
- Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Use only a plastic scraper when removing the sealing material.

- Apply RTV sealant WSE-M4G323-A6 (Loctite 5901G) to the areas shown, and tighten the bolts within 7 minutes.
- Apply a bead of sealant, 3 mm diameter, to the area indicated.

CAUTION: Make sure that the oil evacuation pipe is correctly aligned when installing the oil pan assembly.

Install a new seal.

Renew Part: Oil pick up pipe O-ring seal Quantity: 1 .

Install the oil pan assembly as illustrated.

- Install the bolts finger tight.
- Fully tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
  Torque : 25 Nm
Install the wiring harness cover.

Install the 4 bolts.

Torque : 11 Nm
Install the 4 clips securing the wiring harness to the oil pan.
Connect the oil lever electrical connector and install the clip.
Install a new front differential case O-ring seal.
Renew Part: Front differential case to engine oil pan O-ring seal Quantity: 1 .
Install the front differential assembly.
Torque : 115 Nm

- Using the special tool install the flexplate.
  Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1304
- NOTE: Tighten the bolts in clockwise order.
  
  Install the new flexplate bolts.
  
  Renew Part: Flexplate bolts Quantity: 1 .
  
  Torque
  
  Stage 1: 45 Nm
  
  Stage 2: 90°
Remove the special tool.
Install the high pressure fuel pump 1.

Install the high pressure fuel pump 2.
Refer to: HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP 2
Install the lower timing cover.
Refer to: LOWER TIMING COVER
Install the engine.
Refer to: ENGINE
Fill the engine oil.
Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
