Upper Timing Cover (G1947460): Removal

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.

NOTE:

Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

Remove the engine cover.
Remove the secondary bulkhead left panel.

Remove the secondary bulkhead right panel.

Release the breathers.

Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) coolant cross-over pipe. Discard the gaskets.

Disconnect and release the exhaust temperature sensor wiring harness.

Disconnect and release the exhaust pressure monitoring sensor wiring harness.

Release the exhaust pressure monitoring sensor bracket.

Release the exhaust temperature sensor bracket.

Remove the variable valve timing solenoid.

Remove the upper timing cover. Discard the gasket.
