Upper Timing Cover (G1947460): Installation
- CAUTION: Make sure the components are correctly located and aligned.
Renew the upper timing chain cover gasket. Apply a 3 mm diameter bead of recommended sealant to the positions shown in the illustration.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
Renew Part: Timing chain cover gasket Quantity: 1 .

CAUTION: Bolts must be tightened in the sequence illustrated.

Install the upper timing chain cover.
Torque
Stage 1: 5 Nm
Stage 2: 13 Nm
Stage 3Loosen: 180°
Stage 4: 13 Nm
- Install the engine wiring harness bracket.
Torque : 12 Nm
- Connect and secure the engine wiring harness.
Lubricate the bore with clean engine oil.

CAUTION: Make sure all the mating faces are clean and free from foreign material.
Install the variable valve timing solenoid.
Torque : 9 Nm
- Install the exhaust temperature sensor bracket.
Torque : 12 Nm
- Install the exhaust pressure monitoring sensor bracket.
Torque : 8 Nm
- Connect and secure the exhaust pressure monitoring sensor wiring harness.
- Connect and secure the exhaust temperature sensor wiring harness.
- Install the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) coolant cross-over pipe. Renew the gaskets.
Renew Part: Exhaust manifold cross-over pipe gaskets Quantity: 2 .
Torque : 12 Nm
- Install the breathers.
- Install the secondary bulkhead left panel.

- Install the secondary bulkhead right panel.
Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL
Install the engine cover.
- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
