Coolant Pump (G1881153): Removal

NOTE:

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Partially drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the left air cleaner assembly.
Refer to: LEFT AIR CLEANER

Relocate the coolant hose away from the coolant pump.

Remove the clean air duct.

Using a suitable 6 mm bar, retain the coolant pump pulley.
CAUTION: Make sure that the wiring harness is positioned securely to one side, to prevent it being trapped between the coolant pump and engine block when the coolant pump is installed.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant pump assembly.
CAUTION:
- Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

Remove the coolant pump.

Renew Part: Engine coolant pump gasket Quantity: 1 .
