|
| Engine cranks, but will not start in cold weather (below -15°C/5°F) |
- Fuel waxing/gelling in cold weather
- Fuel filter restricted or blocked by fuel solidification
|
NOTE:
If the fuel filter requires replacement as a result of restrictions or blockages caused by fuel gelling or waxing as a result of cold weather extremes, the replacement filter will NOT be covered by warranty
- Check the fuel filter for restrictions/blockages. If evidence of fuel waxing/gelling is noted, first attempt to warm the vehicle/fuel system to minimum temperature of at least 3°C/38°F. It is recommended that the vehicle is brought into a garage or workshop to be allowed to warm up
- If evidence of fuel waxing/gelling is noted, the fuel filter should be replaced
- A Jaguar Land Rover approved diesel fuel additive should be added to the fuel (using the recommended dosage). Both the fuel and the additive should be at a minimum temperature of at least 3°C/38°F. Jaguar Land Rover Product Development, have validated the following BG products - DFC Plus High Pressure (HP) Extra Cold weather performance (BG Part no 23711)/DFC Plus HP
Extra Cold weather performance with Cetane improver (BG Part no 23811)
- After the fuel additive has been introduced to the fuel, allow the vehicle to idle for a short time in order for the additive to mix thoroughly with the diesel fuel
|
| Low pressure fuel pump noise during idle and normal driving conditions |
- The noise is not an error state. This is normal operation of the low pressure fuel pump
|
- Noise from the low pressure fuel pump is normal and will reduce considerably after 15 miles (24 kilometers) of use
|

- Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, check for water in fuel related DTC
s and repair as necessary. Refer to the relevant DTC
index
|
| Fuel leak from fuel tank |
