Exhaust System - V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol (G2020247): Removal

CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING

General Equipment: 2 post lift
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD

Remove the rear Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) heatshield.

Disconnect and release the 2 rear HO2S wiring harnesses.

Remove the transmission heatshield.

Disconnect and release the front right side HO2S wiring harness.

Disconnect and release the front left side HO2S wiring harness.

Remove the cross member.

Disconnect the exhaust system from the left side catalytic converter.

Disconnect the exhaust system from the right side catalytic converter.

Release the left side rear exhaust silencer.

Release the right side rear exhaust silencer.
WARNING: The components may be heavy or awkward to handle. The assistance of another technician will be required.

Remove the exhaust system.
NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Remove the 4 HO2S.

Special Tool(s): 310-121
