High Pressure Fuel Pump 2 (G2131765): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Lubricate the High Pressure (HP) fuel pump tappet with clean engine oil.

Install the tappet.
CAUTION: Pull the pump evenly onto the oil pan mounting surface by one turn on each fastener alternating until the required torque is achieved.

NOTE: Lubricate the HP fuel pump O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

Install the HP fuel pump.

Torque : 11 Nm
Install the high pressure fuel pump cover.
CAUTION:
- Lubricate only the union threads with clean engine oil.
- The pipe nuts should finger tighten until seated. If this is not possible, slacken the Fuel Pump Fasteners one turn and rotate the Fuel Pump accordingly.

- Install a new high pressure pipe.
  Renew Part: Fuel injector high pressure pipe(s) Quantity: 1 .
- Install the fuel pipe unions and retaining bolts finger tight.
CAUTION: Fuel tubes may be used a maximum of 4 times, paint mark fuel tube after each full tightening sequence.

- Fully tighten the high pressure fuel pump supply pipe unions.
  Torque
  
  Unions (1): 21 Nm
- Fully tighten the high pressure fuel pipe mounting bolt.
  Torque
  
  M6 bolt (2): 11.5 Nm
- Fully tighten the high pressure fuel pipe mounting bolt.
  Torque
  
  M8 bolt (3): 25 Nm
- Fully tighten the high pressure fuel pipe mounting nut.
  Torque
  
  M5 bolt (4): 11.5 Nm
CAUTION:
- The pipe unions should be finger tightened until seated. If this is not possible, slacken the fuel pump fasteners one turn and rotate the fuel pump accordingly.
- Fuel tubes may be used a maximum of 4 times, paint mark fuel tube after each full tightening sequence.

- Finger tighten the low pressure fuel pump supply pipe unions.
- Fully tighten the low pressure fuel pump supply pipe union.
  Torque : 21 Nm
Install fuel pipe retaining bolt.
Torque : 12 Nm
Install the fuel pipe cover.
Torque

M10: 29 Nm

M6: 11 Nm
Install the wiring harness to the fuel pipe.
Install the wiring harness the front fuel pump pipe.
Install the engine mount bolts.
Torque : 48 Nm
Install the battery cable clip.
Remove the engine support stand.
Install the idler pulley bracket.
Torque : 25 Nm
Install the halfshaft support bracket.

Install the generator.
Refer to: GENERATOR
Install the engine mount nut.
Torque : 60 Nm
CAUTION:
- This fuel pipe can be re-used, inspect for signs of damage. Renew if necessary.
- Fuel tubes may be used a maximum of 4 times, paint mark fuel tube after each full tightening sequence.

- Install the high pressure fuel pump supply tube and bracket bolts finger tight until the unions are fully seated.
- Fully tighten the high pressure fuel pump supply tube union.
  Torque
  
  Unions: 21 Nm
- Fully tighten the high pressure fuel pump supply tube mounting bracket bolts.
  Torque : 11.5 Nm
Install the engine wiring harness to the clip.
Install the Noise, Vibration Harshness (NVH) material.
Connect the vacuum outlet pipe.
Connect the 2 front right supercharger coolant hoses.
Install the (NVH) material.
Install the 2 fuel pipes to the clips.
Fill the engine oil.

Install the right side air cleaner outlet pipe.
Refer to: RIGHT AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Start the engine and allow to run for 10 minutes then switch off the engine.
- Check for fuel leaks.
- Check the engine oil lever.
Install the engine cover.
