Thermostat (G1947497): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the thermostat bypass hose.
  2. Install the thermostat assembly and tighten the 4 bolts to the correct torque.

    Torque  : 12 Nm 

  3. Connect the 2 electrical connectors on the thermostat.
  4. Install the thermostat bypass coolant hose onto the coolant pump connecting pipe.
  5. Install the lower thermostat coolant hose.
  6. Install the coolant hose between the radiator and the thermostat.
  7. NOTE: If equipped.

    Install the upper thermostat hose.

  8. NOTE: If equipped.

    Install the coolant hose between the EGR  assembly and the thermostat.

  9. NOTE:
    • If equipped.
    • Install a new O-ring seal.
    • Install a new gasket.

    Install the EGR  pipe. Make sure that a new O-ring seal and a new gasket are installed.

    Renew Part: Exhaust gas recirculation pipe to intake manifold O-ring seal Quantity: 1  .

    Renew Part: EGR inlet pipe to EGR valve gasket Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 10 Nm 

  10. NOTE: If equipped.

    Install the HP EGR  cooler.

    Refer to: HIGH PRESSURE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION COOLER

  11. Fill the coolant system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING 

  12. Install the engine cover.
  13. Connect the 12 V system.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
