Camshaft Position Sensor (G1885341): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

CAUTION:
- A new Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor must be installed.
- The CMP sensor tip must rest on one of the 3 webs on the back of the camshaft pulley. Incorrect installation may result in the CMP sensor being damaged.
- Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Only turn the engine in a clockwise direction of rotation.

- Install a new Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
  Renew Part: Camshaft position sensor Quantity: 1 .
- Install the CMP sensor retaining bolt.
  Torque : 10 Nm
Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the left upper timing belt cover.
  Renew Part: Timing belt cover gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Install the 6 left upper timing belt cover retaining bolts.
  Torque : 10 Nm
Secure the coolant hose.
Torque : 4 Nm
- Install the engine cooling pipe.
- Install the 2 engine cooling pipe retaining bolts.
- Connect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
- Secure the engine cooling pipe retaining clip.
Connect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) coolant hoses to the engine outlet.

- Install the left side vacuum pipes.
- Install the 3 left side vacuum pipe retaining bolts.
  Torque : 4 Nm

- Install the center vacuum pipes.
- Secure the 2 vacuum pipe retaining clips.
Install the left side Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
Refer to: LEFT EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE
Fill the coolant system.

Install the engine cover.

Connect the startup battery ground cable.
