Turbocharger - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel - Mid, Low Power (G1821580): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

- Install the turbocharger.
  Torque : 28 Nm
- Install a new gasket.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger to exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Connect the turbocharger electrical connector.
CAUTION: The catalytic converter to turbocharger gasket must be installed to the orientation shown in the illustration.

- Install a new gasket.
  Renew Part: Catalytic converter to turbocharger gasket Quantity: 1 .
CAUTION:
- Do not use power tools to remove or install the clamp.
- Only tighten the nut finger tight at this stage.

Install a new catalytic converter to turbocharger clamp but do not fully tighten at this stage.

Renew Part: Catalytic converter to turbocharger clamp Quantity: 1 .
CAUTION: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

Install the 2 catalytic converter lower bracket bolts but do not tighten at this stage.
CAUTION: Only tighten the nuts finger tight at this stage.

Install the 2 catalytic converter upper bracket nuts but do not tighten at this stage.
Tighten the catalytic converter to the turbocharger clamp.
Torque : 11 Nm
Tighten the 2 catalytic converter upper bracket nuts.
Torque : 25 Nm
Tighten the 2 catalytic converter lower bracket bolts.
Torque : 25 Nm
- Install 2 new O-ring seals.
  Renew Part: Upper oil return pipe O-ring seal Quantity: 1 .
  
  Renew Part: Lower oil return pipe O-ring seal(s) Quantity: 1 .
- Install the turbocharger oil return pipe.
  Torque : 12 Nm
Install the charge air cooler intake pipe.
Torque : 12 Nm
Install the air deflector.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
Install the turbocharger heatshields.
Torque : 8 Nm
Install the exhaust gas temperature sensor.
Torque : 35 Nm
- Install the turbocharger oil supply pipe.
  Torque : 18 Nm
- Install new sealing washers.
  Renew Part: Turbocharger oil supply tube to turbocharger sealing washers Quantity: 2 .
Install the Low Pressure (LP) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.
Refer to: LOW PRESSURE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Using the approved Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) diagnostic equipment calibrate the Air Path Set-Up routine found in service functions.
