High Pressure Turbocharger - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel - High Power (G1914798): Removal

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Remove the low pressure turbocharger.
Refer to: LOW PRESSURE TURBOCHARGER - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL - HIGH POWER

Disconnect the turbocharger electrical connector.

- Release the turbocharger oil feed pipe.
- Remove and discard the banjo bolt and washers.

Remove the turbocharger outlet pipe.

Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

Remove the exhaust manifold upper heatshields.

Remove the exhaust manifold lower heatshields.
WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping oil.

- Remove the turbocharger oil return tube using the sequence illustrated.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

Remove the turbocharger support bracket.

- Release the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe from the exhaust manifold.
- Remove and discard the gasket.

- Use the special tool to remove the 8 bolts.
  Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1652
- Discard the bolts and spacers.
- Remove the exhaust manifold.

Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
