Pinpoint Test E: Turbocharger Blade Inspection

- E1: TURBOCHARGER BLADE INSPECTION NOTE: This step is for High spec engines
- Visually inspect compressor housing and blades for clear and oblivious blade damage. Please use illustration 262702 as reference.NOTE: This step is for Mid spec engines
- Visually inspect the compressor housing and blades for clear and oblivious blade damage. Please use illustration 262703 as reference.
Was the Turbocharger Blades/Turbocharger Housing Damaged? Or is the compressor wheel nut missing?
Yes: GO to E2.
No: Install the airpath pipes that were previously removed. GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
- Visually inspect compressor housing and blades for clear and oblivious blade damage. Please use illustration 262702 as reference.
- E2: TURBOCHARGER BLADE INSPECTION CAUTION: Make sure that the intake is free from debris that may have entered the system during the failure, this must be cleaned out, parts should only be replaced if debris is embedded/melted in to components, If debris is found in the base of the inter-cooler or charge cooler install new, (due to an inability to prove it is clear)
- Remove the throttle body and check for signs of metallic particles within the intake manifold. Refer to: THROTTLE BODY
Is there evidence of metallic particles within the intake manifold?
Yes: Raise a TA with attached supporting evidence.
No: Replace the turbocharger, Charge air cooler, charge air hoses. Clear DTC and retest. If the fault persists, raise a TA
- Remove the throttle body and check for signs of metallic particles within the intake manifold. Refer to: THROTTLE BODY
