Exhaust System - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel (G2057293): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

1. Install the rear NVH  dampers.

   Torque  : 22 Nm 

2. Install the front NVH  damper.

   Torque  : 22 Nm 

3. CAUTION:

   • If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new post SCR  NOx sensor.
   • Make sure the sensor wiring harness is not twisted more than 180 degrees and is not in contact with either the exhaust or driveshaft.
   • Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the sensor tip.
   NOTE: If the original sensor is to be installed, apply lubricant meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the thread of the sensor.

   Install and tighten the post SCR  NOx sensor.

   Special Tool(s): 310-121 

   Torque  : 48 Nm 

4. Inspect the exhaust hangers and renew if damaged or worn.
5. • With the aid of another technician, install the exhaust system.
   • Install the 2 middle exhaust hanger brackets.
6. Secure the exhaust system rear silencer with the 2 exhaust hanger brackets.
7. • Install a new gasket.

     Renew Part: Exhaust downpipe gasket(s)  Quantity: 1  .

   • Install the exhaust to the catalytic converter.
   • Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

     Torque  : 40 Nm 

The following step(s) applies to: 

Vehicles with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

1. CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
   • Install a new DEF  injector clamp.

     Renew Part: Diesel exhaust fluid injector clamp kit  Quantity: 1  .

   • Install the DEF  injector.
   • Tighten the DEF  injector clamp bolt.

     Torque  : 5 Nm 

   • Connect the electrical connector.
   • Install the protective sleeve.

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

1. • Install the post SCR  NOx sensor and secure with the 5 clips.
   • Secure the wiring harness with the 6 clips.
   • Connect the electrical connector.
2. • Install the right side undershield.
   • Install and tighten the 23 fixings.

     Torque  : 7 Nm 

3. • Install the cross member.
   • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

     Torque  : 25 Nm 

4. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
