In-Vehicle Crossbeam (G2018929): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles 

    • Install the in-vehicle crossbeam onto the climate control assembly.
    • Tighten the 7 bolts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

  2. CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the wiring harnesses.
    • With assistance, install the in-vehicle crossbeam.
    • Tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque  : 20 Nm 

    • Install the bracket.
    • Tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 10 Nm 

    • Connect the wiring harness.
  4. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Connect the 2 drain tubes.

  5. Connect the wiring harness on the passenger side at 5 clips.
    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors to the climate module.
    • Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
    • Connect the wiring harness.
  7. Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the Body Control Module/Gateway Module Assembly (BCM/GWM).
  8. Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install the cover.
    • Connect the wiring harness.
    • Connect the wiring harness.
    • Install the ground cable bolt.
  11. Install the glovebox cooling duct.
  12. Connect the wiring harness.
  13. Connect the climate sensor electrical connector on the passenger side.
    • Connect the electrical connector to the electric booster heater.
    • Connect the wiring harness.
    • Connect the climate sensor electrical connector on the driver side.
    • Connect the wiring harness.
    • Position the instrument panel wiring harness at driver side 'A' Pillar.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Tighten the torx screw.
  17. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Install the cross car beam lower bracket.

    • Install the floor heater duct on the driver side.
    • Connect the climate sensor electrical connector on the driver side.
    • Tighten the screw.
    • Install the clip.
  19. Install the driver floor mat.
    • Install the floor heater duct on the passenger side.
    • Connect the climate sensor electrical connector on the passenger side.
    • Tighten the screw.
    • Install the clip.
  21. Install the passenger floor mat.
  22. CAUTION: Passengers side only.
    • Install the cowl side trim panel.
    • Tighten the screw.
    • Position the door weatherstrip.
  23. CAUTION: Drivers side only.
    • Install the cowl side trim panel.
    • Tighten the screw.
    • Position the door weatherstrip.
  24. CAUTION: Drivers side only.
    • Install the hood release lever.
    • Tighten the screw.
  25. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the front treadplate trim panel.

The following step(s) applies to: 

Right-hand drive vehicles 

  1. CAUTION: Make sure that the surface is clean and free of foreign material.
    • Connect the Air Conditioning (A/C) pipes.
    • Tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    • Tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 20 Nm 

    • Connect the 2 coolant hoses.
    • Connect the coolant hose and secure with the clip.
    • Install and tighten the torx bolt.

      Torque  : 20 Nm 

The following step(s) applies to: 

Left-hand drive vehicles 

  1. CAUTION: Make sure that the surface is clean and free of foreign material.
    • Connect the Air Conditioning (A/C) pipes.
    • Tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 9 Nm 

    • Install and tighten the torx bolt.

      Torque  : 20 Nm 

    • Connect the 2 coolant hoses.
    • Connect the coolant hose and secure with the clip.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 20 Nm 

  3. Install the secondary bulkhead right panel.

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - TDV6 3.0L DIESEL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles 

  1. Install the secondary bulkhead left panel.

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD LEFT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD LEFT PANEL - V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD LEFT PANEL - TDV6 3.0L DIESEL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD LEFT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL

  2. Install the instrument panel console.

    Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CONSOLE 

  3. Install the steering column.

    Refer to: STEERING COLUMN

  4. NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.

    Install the front seats.

    Refer to: FRONT ROW SEAT - VEHICLES WITH: POWER SEATS

    Refer to: FRONT ROW SEAT - VEHICLES WITHOUT: POWER SEATS

  5. Charge the air conditioning (A/C) system.

    Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING

  6. Fill and bleed the cooling system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING (INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel, General Procedures).

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING (V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol, General Procedures).

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING (TDV6 3.0L Diesel, General Procedures).

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING (INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol, General Procedures).

  7. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
