Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "Safety Precautions, Cautions and Warnings". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system, make sure to check the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and high voltage shut-off procedure.
  1. Remove the main crash pad assembly.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")

  2. Remove the mounting nuts and through bolts in the frontal area and lower the steering column

    (Refer to Steering System - "MDPS COLUMN AND HOUSING ")

  3. Remove the integrated central control unit (ICU)

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "INTEGRATED CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT (ICU)

  4. Remove the integrated body control unit (IBU)

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "INTEGRATED BODY CONTROL UNIT (IBU) ")

  5. Remove the surround view monitor (SVM)

    (Refer to Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) - "SURROUND VIEW MONITOR (SVM) ECU ")

  6. Disconnect the steering column connectors.

    (Refer to Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) - "PARKING COLLISION-AVOIDANCE ASSIST-REVERSE (PCA-R) UNIT ")

  7. Disconnect the airbag system control module connector (A).

  8. Disconnect the connectors (A) by removing the front pillar area clip.

  9. Disconnect the multi box connectors (A).

  10. Remove the parking collision-avoidance assist unit bracket (A) by removing the mounting nut and screw.

  11. Disconnect the heater and blower unit connectors.

    [Driver] 

    1. Disconnect the temperature control actuator (A), mode control actuator connector (B).

    2. Disconnect the PTC heater connector (A).

    [Passenger] 

    1. Disconnect the connector (A).

    3. Disconnect the auto defogging actuator connector (A).

  12. Remove the cluster speaker (A) by removing the mounting nuts.

  13. Removing the mounting cowl cross bar side bolts after removing the plug hole (A).

    [LH] 

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 22.6 N.m (1.7 - 2.3 kgf.m, 12.3 - 16.6 lb.ft)

  14. Remove the wiper motor.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "WIPER MOTOR ")

  15. Remove the engine control module (ECM).

    (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) ")

  16. Remove the reservoir tank by removing the mounting bolt and nut.

  17. Remove the engine room cowl cross bar assembly mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    22.6 - 30.4 N.m (2.3 - 3.1 kgf.m, 16.6 - 22.4 lb.ft)

  18. Remove the cowl cross bar assembly (A) by removing the mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 23.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.4 kgf.m, 12.3 - 17.4 lb.ft)

  19. Remove the main wiring (A) from cowl cross bar assembly.

    NOTE: Refit the main wiring exactly as it was originally intended.
